September 2020: Books

So many books this month! (5!) I flew through Beach Read. I didn’t realize how much I needed a book about feelings. Somehow reading about others heartache helps me understand my own. I finished Me and White Supremacy. That was a difficult book. It requires a lot of introspection and personal confrontation. It has opened my eyes to a lot of injustices and given me a framework for moving forward. Dear Edward was touching. I don’t know if I’ll ever get on a plane again. The Dutch House was dark and moody. Tom Hanks narrates the audio book version. After learning that I couldn’t stop reading the book in his voice. Nine Perfect Strangers. I don’t know if I’m reading more books about loss lately or if I’m more aware and affected by it after becoming a mother. This coming month I’m diving into Hood Feminism and will finish up Austin Channing Brown’s I’m Still Here.

What are you reading these days?
